Former Berlin Tegel Airport – Private Jet Alternatives

Berlin Tegel Airport "Otto Lilienthal" (TXL) was one of the German capital's main airports for many decades. Flight operations ended on 8 November 2020, and air traffic in the Berlin region is now primarily handled by Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).

Private jet flights to and from Berlin Tegel are no longer possible. If you are planning a private jet flight to Berlin, JetApp can arrange an individual charter to Berlin Brandenburg Airport or assess other suitable airports in the region.

Berlin Tegel Airport

Berlin Tegel was located in the northwestern part of the city, approximately eight kilometres from central Berlin. Its convenient location and short distances within the terminal made it popular with business and leisure travellers.

The airport was particularly well known for its distinctive hexagonal terminal design, which allowed passengers to move efficiently between the entrance, check-in facilities and aircraft.

Following the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, Tegel was permanently closed. Its operating licence expired in May 2021. The former airport site is being redeveloped for new urban uses, including research, business and residential areas.
